Exhibit 2 - Lindemann-Keeley electrometer
F.A.Lindemann was appointed to the chair of Experimental Philosophy in 1919 and soon after his arrival he collaborated with his father, A.F.Lindemann, and T.C.Keeley to develop a sensitive electrometer for measuring the minute currents experienced in astronomical photometry. Several examples made by the Cambridge Instrument Company exist in the Archive. The one pictured here shows the electrometer mounted on a microscope.
